Fall/Winter 17 NYFW Re-Cap

The highly anticipated Fall/Winter 2017 shows at NYFW definitely were all about making a statement. Whether it be color, texture, embellishment, print, or political messages,
New York made its voice heard. Leather dominated the catwalks and street scene, with everything from full-leather looks to fine fringe details (as seen on the Corina Fringe Back Dress). Animal prints are making a comeback, especially with everything 80s inspired back on trend. This print can be tricky to incorporate, but worn with other neutrals or another statement making piece it can be done well. Fur is still having its moment in the spotlight, but this season rich gemstone hues and bright playful shades are the way to go. If you want your clothing to help speak your mind, don't be afraid to get political and wear your views loud and proud. Metallics, including luxe embellishments, we're seen everywhere. Drape yourself in anything and everything that shines and shimmers. A few brands even took is as far as to adorn their models with glistening skin. Our final favorite trend is monochromatic power dressing. These girls (and boys) are not to be messed with. Take this look even further with heavy hardware and sleek leather combat boots.
